Held in the Oval room of MNAC, the celebration of the delivery gala of the XV Gaudí Awards took place last Sunday, January 22. Although the script for the Catalan film festival was closed and the general rehearsals on Saturday were finished, there was time and space to recognize the figure of the filmmaker Agustí Villaronga, who died early that same Sunday due to cancer, being present throughout the celebration in  the 1,300 people who packed the venue and in the different speeches of the winners.

This new edition of the Gaudí Awards once again confirmed the feminine power in the Catalan industry, highlighting their talent in a multitude of awards, which were widely distributed. Even so, there was a clearly leading film: Alcarrás. The film directed by Carla Simón won 5 awards (best film, direction, original screenplay, production direction and audience award), on a night where Pacification, by Albert Serra, won the award for best foreign language film . Lastly, “Un Año, Una Noche” by Isaki Lacuesta was also awarded 5 statuettes, tying with the great winner.

For yet another year, thanks to Catalá Film Academy, Fluge Barcelona has been in charge of supplying the audiovisual equipment for the gala, which has had the technical direction of Carlos Valero and Martín Curletto. The extensive sound equipment consisted of 54 Meyer Sound Leopard boxes, 9 Meyer Sound 900-LFC and 9 Meyersound MG-leopard/900 Top Grid as P.A. arranged in a line array and installed at 45º, thus offering an overhead sound that is unusual in this type of event. Designed by sound engineer Marc Sardá, a Meyer Sound Ultra-X40 satellite reinforcement was also installed. For its part, there was a spectacular lighting design at the height of the event designed by Germinal and executed by the Fluge Barcelona operator Lluís Boria. Among the equipment, it is worth highlighting 80 Martin Rush, 12 Robe Megapointe, 48 Elation Sixbar, 28 Clay Paky Sharpy, 16 Robe BMFL spot, 30 Martin ERA 800, 8 Robe BMFL BW wash, 12 Robe BMFL Blade and 28 SGM Q7.
