Diego Mentrida is a Spanish triathlete who reached fame thanks to a solidarity gesture at the Santander Triathlon, where he let James Teagl, who took the wrong course in the last corner overtake him at the finish line. This gesture had a great impact worldwide, going viral through social networks.

Now, together with the West Syndrome Foundation, Diego Mentrida has created the solidarity project “Running for West”, an initiative to promote visibility and raise funds to improve the lives of those who suffer from the syndrome. Such is the case of his brother Carlos, who is a total dependent.

The project consists of a solidarity race, in which anyone anywhere in the world can collaborate by means of the symbolic purchase of a solidarity number.
