Project Description

The 53rd edition of Heineken Jazzaldia took place in San Sebastian From the 25th to the 29th of July. Produced by Donostia Kultura EEP, Heineken Jazzaldia gathered 170,000 attendees during its five days of celebration, around 15,500 more than the previous year. One of the strong points of this edition was the superlative quality of the programmed artists. The proposal was corresponded by a sound response of the public which out of the 18 shows offered bought out the tickets in 10 of them. The Kursaal Auditorium, emblematic venue of the festival, was attended by international artists such as Caetano Veloso, Kenny Barron Quintet and Gregory Porter, along with a symphonic orchestra directed by Arkaitz Mendoza.

Fluge Audiovisuales was in charge of supplying the sound equipment of the Kursaal Auditorium. ABS-Fluge Euskadi provided both the lighting equipment of the Kursaal Auditorium and the lighting and sound of the different stages of Heineken Jazzaldia located in the city of San Sebastian: Terraza Heineken Stage, Frigo Stage and Verde Stage.

Fluge Audiovisuales counted on innovative material of Fohhn brand, donated for the occasion by the Neotécnica distributor for the P.A. equipment of the Kursaal. This was equipment that was used for the first time in Spain. All this was controlled by a Digico SD5 and a Digico SD10. On the other hand, the lighting equipment supplied was composed, among others, by 4 Vari*Lite VL3000, 20 Robe Spiider, 16 Martin Mac, 18 Clay Paky Alpha Beam, 10 Martin Rush Par Led and a Grand MA2 table. Given the high musical level of artists like Caetano Veloso and Gregory Porter, precise and demanding, it is worth noting the endeavor and effort of the technical team to rigorously meet the sound demands of their respective performances at the Kursaal of  Jazzaldia, with special emphasis on microphones.

For the lighting equipment of the other three stages installed in Heineken Jazzaldia (Terraza Heineken Stage, Frigo Stage and Verde Stage), ABS-Fluge Euskadi in its entirety counted on around 13 Robe Pointe, 12 Vari*lite VL 3500 spot, 12 Vari*lite VL 24/16 wash, 12 Robin 300, 11 Atomic 3000, 24 Thomas Pixel Line, 36 Par led, 24 Martin Rush MH6, 8 Fresnel 2kw and 8 Fresnel 1kw. Regarding sound, Meyer Sound M3D equipment was used in the Verde Stage  P.A. and Meyer Sound Leopard in the Terraza Heineken and Frigo Stage. Finally, all the sound reinforcement material was controlled by Digico, Digidesign, Avid and Yamaha (CL5) tables.
