Project Description

TECHNOLOGY AND SUSTAINABILITY ADVOCATE MADRID MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK 2020

For about a week the capital was transformed into a fashion hub with the Madrid Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week January 2020, one of the most important events in the sector internationally. The event, organized by IFEMA, completed its 71st edition with dozens of parades from a multitude of established and emerging designers in different locations, such as IFEMA Hall 14.1 – Madrid Fair or the Cibeles Palace, and noted for being oriented towards sustainability, the use of technology and 5G connectivity.

The event, which was held from January 28 to February 2, signed a great success of assistance by bringing people together from all corners of the world to enjoy numerous activities with fashion as the protagonist. The epicenter of all these meetings spread throughout the city was IFEMA – Feria de Madrid, in its pavilion 14.1, housing the main gateways of the event: Mercedes-Benz and Bertha Benz.

Throughout the different days, about 40 creators and brands were presented where debuting and consecrated designers joined. The catwalks accompanied these innovative textile proposals with the help of an important audiovisual display to turn these spaces into a great show.

In this regard, the first parade of Samsung EGO’s day – Sunday, February 2 – was given by designer Yvan Andreu. Thanks to 5G technology, a fashion show was exhibited for the first time in Spain using this mobile network to run two simultaneous catwalks merging its different spaces with the use of 5G and the most advanced audiovisual technology. The two catwalks, installed one in the Samsung Store in Callao and another in pavilion 14.1 of IFEMA, both synchronized in real time, which allowed attendees to see the outputs of real-space models combined with the entrances of the models of the virtual space projected on the LED screens installed on both sites.

Thanks to the trust of IFEMA – Feria de Madrid, its production company, Fluge Audiovisuales, provided the lighting equipment and audiovisual technical personnel of the Mercedes-Benz and Bertha Benz catwalks. Likewise, thanks to the trust of Light Project as a producer and flash2flash as a client, Fluge Audiovisuales provided the video, lighting, sound and audiovisual technical personnel of the 5G parade.
