Last Wednesday, April 6, the president of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, launched the immersive art exhibition “Tovar, surrealismo vivo”. Carried out in Plaza de España in Santo Domingo by the Iván Tovar Foundation and the promoter Héctor José Rizek, the installation pays tribute to the surrealist painter Iván Tovar through a commitment to new technologies, with special emphasis on the audiovisual integration, great protagonist of the exhibition.

Thanks to BGL Audiovisuales the exhibition producer, Fluge Audiovisuales was responsible for supplying technical sound and video equipment for immersive installations. In its technical section, the exhibition features the technical video design by Fernando Carabias (Fluge Audiovisuales), with the sound design being handled by Marcos Mejías (Fluge Audiovisuales).

“Tovar, surrealismo vivo” is an immersive space measuring 22 x 22 meters and 5 meters high where the surrealist artist’s imagery is projected using mapping techniques. In order to create an immersive experience, we have installed approximately 32 Panasonic projectors and d&b sound equipment that cover the entire venue. It took about 14 days to create this magnificent audiovisual montage, after which adjustments were made to complete the details prior to the grand premiere.
